Music has the ability to break those chains just for a little bit. When you’re in a bad situation, or you feel completely stuck or in a bad mood, the right song can just come along and lift you up, break those chains, and transform you, at least for just a moment.
The Value of a Moment I recently spent $500 on a concert ticket to see Rod Stewart. Now, a business person would look at that on paper and say, “That’s expensive”. But when Rod started singing a song that evoked a deep, visceral emotion—one that transported me back to a first love, a first kiss, or a first concert—time simply stopped.
The truth is, the world is going to keep spinning whether you worry about it or not. So, why not give yourself this moment? I give myself that permission every time I sit here to share music with you.
